The Minnehaha Bag company was born on a 75 mile ride from Hinckley to Duluth, validated over coffee with friends Jim and Kevin, at of all places the Minnehaha Coffee Shop, and became reality in a one stall, South Minneapolis garage. (No, fooling, this is all true.)

We are bike nerds at heart, and that’s a good thing. Our fleet of bikes drastically outnumbers the amount of people who reside under our roof. We cycle for fun, for work, for exercise, to save a buck or two, for errands, sometimes for dates (with our kind an benevolent spouses who have dutifully supported our dream of having our own company), with our kids and with out of town family who cannot believe how cool it is to live and bike in Minneapolis.

So why canvas and leather bags? Lots of reasons actually, but primarily, we wanted to build a line of really good looking and functional bags in traditional materials which did not require a second mortgage to buy or if a spouse were to discover an un-planned purchase of one that you wouldn’t end up in counseling or sleeping on the couch.

Our plan is to distribute these bags through a hand-selected network of independent bike shops. For that reason, you will not be able to buy products off this website. Instead We will maintain a link to our distiguished retailers, a few of which will sell product online, so that those of you without a local  shop to support can get a bag if you so desire.

We like our companies to be open friendly and responsive, so don’t be afraid to drop us a note for any reason whatsoever.
